Project Proponent Water Authority of Western Australia Proposal description The proposal investigates the alternative water supplies that could be used to provide water required by future industries establishing at Kemerton. The proposal does not address the use of the water within the Kemerton Industrial Park nor any disposal or treatment of wastewater or effluent that may be required. These will be examined when individual industry development proposals are being considered. The Environmental Protection Authority has previously advised Landcorp, the estate manager, that options involving deep well injection or ocean discharge of effluent (other than uncontaminated cooling water) would be likely to be found to be environmentally unacceptable (Environmental Protection Authority, 1993).
