AGR is a joint venture between Wesfarmers CSBP Limited and Coogee Chemicals Pty Ltd which was formed to manufacture and market sodium cyanide. The AGR facility is located at Wesfarmers CSBP's fertiliser and chemicals complex in Kwinana (Figure 1). Transport of sodium cyanide solution from CSBP, Kwinana (s46)

In 1987 the EPA assessed a proposal by Australian Gold Reagents Pty Ltd (AGR) to construct and operate a sodium cyanide plant in Kwinana and to transport the product (30% sodium cyanide solution) by road to mine sites for gold extraction. In December 1988 Australian Gold Reagents Pty Ltd produced a Public Environmental Review document describing its proposal to expand its existing sodium cyanide solution plant at Kwinana and increase its annual production from 15,000 tonnes per annum to 40,000 tonnes per annum.
