Water supply for Kemerton Industrial Park

Last updated: September 27, 2024

The proposal investigates the alternative water supplies that could be used to provide water required by future industries establishing at Kemerton. The proposal does not address the use of the water within the Kemerton Industrial Park nor any disposal or treatment of wastewater or effluent that may be required. These will be examined when individual industry development proposals are being considered. The Environmental Protection Authority has previously advised Landcorp, the estate manager,... Beenyup ocean outfall duplication (s46)

Last updated: March 13, 1995

In 1989 the Water Authority of Western Australia referred to the Environmental Protection Authority a proposal to build a second ocean outfall from the Beenyup Wastewater Treatment Plant into Marmion Marine Park. Some conditions which related solely to the pre-construction and construction phases have now been satisfactorily completed and formally cleared. They are no longer necessary and can now be deleted. Water catchment and dam development, Mt Hampton, South of Southern Cross

Last updated: January 24, 1994

This proposal by the Water Authority of Western Australia is to harvest and store water from a large, high granite outcrop known as Mt Hampton. Mt Hampton is located in a reserve for the purpose of "Water and Conservation of Flora and Fauna" about 60 km south-west of Southern Cross. The proponent has endeavoured to demonstrate to the Environmental Protection Authority that this proposal can be implemented without a significant impact to, or reduction of, conservation values of both... Albany sewage treatment and disposal of water

Last updated: October 7, 1992

The Water Authority of Western Australia has proposed that all municipal wastewater from Albany undergo secondary treatment at the Timewell Road (No. 2) plant prior to being piped and irrigated onto trees and pasture at a land disposal site on the outskirts of Albany. This proposal constitutes part of a long-term plan to rehabilitate the eutrophic Princess Royal Harbour and would result in the removal of the Point King sewage outfall (a significant source of nutrients to the harbour). Next Major Public Water Supply for Perth (post 1992)

Last updated: October 3, 1990

The Water Authority has stated that following the completion of the Pinjar groundwater development, a new major water supply source will be required by 1992. This reasoning is based on current and predicted water consumption demand even in view of the Water Authority's public water conservation programme. Because of the extent, magnitude and likely environmental implications of developing a new water supply source, the EPA required the Water Authority to prepare an ERMP for this project.... Proposed Victoria-Bickley Redevelopment Scheme

Last updated: July 20, 1990

The proposal is to redevelop the existing Victoria Reservoir on Munday Brook, approximately 20 kilometres east of Perth. This is considered necessary by the Water Authority of Western Australia due to the age and condition of the existing dam, and timely in view of the current residential and rural development pressures being placed on the associated water catchments. Redevelopment of the Victoria Reservoir would involve the creation of a new larger dam to replace the existing structure to gain... Read more...
