Proposal description
The proposal is for the mining of a 53-hectare area and processing of approximately 1.3 million tonnes of gypsum recovered from Mining Lease 70/1161 using the facilities currently employed for operations in the adjacent Mining Lease 70/750. The proposal involves dredging and will form a permanent hypersaline water body of approximately four metres maximum depth. Dredging operations are proposed to be undertaken every second year over a 2 to 4 week period to excavate approximately 100,000 tonnes of gypsum.
