Scheme/scheme amendment Responsible Authority City of Karratha Description Amendment 60 is an omnibus amendment that proposes numerous modifications to the scheme as an interim step to the preparation of a new local planning scheme. The amendment proposes to: introduce rezoning and scheme map modifications; introduce new land use permissibilities (including Service Stations and Renewable Energy Facility); introduce new development provisions; ensure consistency with the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015 and the addition of supplemental provisions; and amend minor errors and omissions in the Scheme text and maps. The amendment includes transfer of part of the Murujuga National Park on the Burrup Peninsula (the Peninsula) and parts of the Dampier Archipelago Islands (the Islands) from ‘Public purposes – Telecommunications’ reserve, ‘Strategic Industry’, ‘Infrastructure’ and ‘No Zone’ to ‘Conservation, Recreation and Natural Landscapes’.
