Bulletin Resources Limited are proposing a mineral exploration programme on exploration licence 74/655 within the Shire of Ravensthorpe. The proposal is within the Cocanarup Timber Reserve located to the west of the Ravensthorpe townsite. The Munglinup Graphite Project is located in the South Coast region of Western Australia, approximately 105km west of Esperance, 85km east of Ravensthorpe and 4km north on Munglinup. MRC Graphite Pty Ltd propose to extract graphite from up to six open pits. The proposal is for the construction and operation (on a temporary basis) of six evaporation ponds (120m × 30m) in the north-eastern corner of the Mungari Industrial Estate in the Shire of Coolgardie. The proposal is to import ammonium nitrate through Esperance. The elements of the proposal are: there would be eight x 2000 tonne shipments per year ammonium nitrate would be imported in one tonne "bulka bags" some ammonium nitrate would be directly loaded from the ship to road or rail vehicles for transport to Kalgoorlie, and the remainder would be stored on an interim basis in the storage sheds at the Port of Esperance prior to such transport.
