High Street Upgrade

Project
Proposal description

Main Roads WA is proposing to conduct works to upgrade approximately 1.5 kilometre (km) of High Street in the City of Fremantle, Western Australia. The upgrade from Stirling Highway to Carrington Street to a four lane dual carriageway is aimed at improving road safety.

The works would require a total disturbance of approximately 20.1 hectares (ha), including 1.8 ha of the Fremantle Public Golf Course, Royal Fremantle Golf Club (Class A reserve) and 0.1 ha of the Fremantle Environmental Resource Network property (Class C reserve). Up to 0.67 ha black cockatoo foraging habitat, including 16 potential future breeding trees are proposed to be cleared.
